This is a great movie.
Following the deservedly successful HBO series, the
cinematic story takes the characters to new places and new
emotional plateaus. I'm glad to see Hollywood give thinking
women with real problems some air time on the big screen.
It's about time. These women deal with the problems that
all women have, but they do it a bit larger than life, yet
with real heart. I'm with that. A lot of guys wouldn't have
the emotional maturity or comfort level with their own
sexuality to see past their male-driven paradigms to enjoy
the gem that this movie becomes. Not me though. I'm with
you, hot woman. i think the idea that men have to drive the
drama and be the centerpiece of a picture is not only
demeaning to women, it actually minimizes what real men can
be too.
I think you will, as I did, enjoy this movie, with its
twists and turns on a familiar but not dusty road. Anyway,
I think the only thing that would have made the movie
better would have been if I had seen it with someone who
had already seen it, to kind of take the edge off the
unexpected jolts and guide me a bit through the unfolding
drama. So, if you'd like to make your SATC movie experience
all it can be, let me know and I'd be glad to join you in
the darkened confines of the theater, next to each other,
against each other, for two hours.... Um, ok, yeah, just
let me know.
