Learning the art of mindfulness in the presence of a group can be a very powerful experience. Relationships are a HUGE part of our lives and, often, part of the reason we have so much trouble saying "yes" to ourselves is because we worry about others and what they might think. So learning mindfulness as part of a group not only teaches you this amazing coping skill, but it also gives you the opportunity to challenge and redefine how you are with others as you strengthen your relationship with yourself through mindfulness. Hearing others' experiences can enhance your learning and growth. Sharing your own experiences with others not only advances your knowledge, but the group will add a variety of perspectives and you will learn to seek and receive help and guidance from others in everyday life too.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

Kernel of Wisdom's beginner group program focuses on teaching basic mindfulness techniques, practices and skills so that you can better cope with daily stress and even enhance your self-discovery, self-compassion, and self-acceptance in the process. Other practical benefits can include:

  • Enhanced coping tools for regulating emotion, including stress, anxiety, and/or depression symptoms
  • Increased awareness of your body and how to manage physical or emotion sensations (including pain) that arise

COURSE STRUCTURE

  • Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
  • Classes run for 1 hour (50-55 minutes, with 5-10 minutes for individual questions)
  • The course includes 8 consecutive, weekly classes (allowing time for practice and integration between sessions)
  • Small group size, 4-8 participants

INCLUDED IN THE COURSE

  • Kernel of Wisdom's meditation guide filled with tips, tools, and meditations to support your practice
  • Audio files for all meditations introduced for home practice 
  • Video-based guided meditations available through YouTube
  • Almost 24-7 (I do sleep... sometimes) coaching and support between classes
  • All program materials, handouts, and supplies (no need for meditation cushions, mats, etc. - come as you are!)
