About My Mindfulness Coaching

Develop the craft of loving yourself through the art of meditation and self-reflection.

Discover a new best friend in yourself so you no longer need to feel alone, neglected, undeserving, or in need of others’ acceptance for confidence.

How can mindfulness help? Kernel of Wisdom teaches mindfulness meditation in a way that is cusomized to your personal challenges and needs. My programs are, therefore, designed to use mindfulness as a tool that can help:

  • Discover your inner voice.
  • Learn how to listen to the voice within.
  • Heal your relationship with yourself.
  • Discover your personal bliss and take the steps to begin investing in quality time with yourself, doing the things you've come to learn that you love.
  • Find enough self-love and self-compassion to take better care of yourself and reach your goals.
  • Nurture and develop your relationship with yourself for the rest of your life - long after you've finished the program itself. This is an investment that lasts a lifetime.

How many times have you told yourself you're wrong for how you feel? How many times have you put yourself down - taking someone else’s opinion over your own? How many times have you told yourself "I can't" or “I shouldn’t”? How often do you put others first? And how lost, lonely, or unimportant do you feel?

Well, screw it.

The most important relationship you'll ever have is your relationship with yourself. Don't know what that might even look like? It's like any other relationship - you start by learning about yourself, discovering what you like and don't like, uncovering your values, how you think, and the habits you have; then you spend quality time with yourself - listening, laughing, learning, and growing within that relationship, honouring it every day until you fully realize how inherrantly amazing and worthy you really are. Because you are, absolutely, amazing.

START SAYING 'NO' TO OTHERS SO YOU CAN SAY 'YES' TO YOURSELF

Hi, I'm Joelle! For a long time I put ALL of my energy into gaining approval from other people. I hid the sides of myself people didn’t always like. I was “nice” to the core. I was always striving to be perfect – terrified to make a mistake or disappoint people. But neglecting what my heart wanted, who I really was, caused me to seek comfort in food, encouraged me to spend a lot of money trying to keep up with others’ expectations, and created a huge amount of emotional discomfort and anxiety. I couldn’t stand to be left alone, I was constantly afraid of being abandoned, and I was exhausted from always trying to please people. But worst of all, I felt deeply lonely, unimportant, helpless and felt as though life was meaningless.

So what changed?

I got sick of it. I found my inner voice and started saying "no" to others so I could say "yes" to myself. And that is when my life began to change.

Through mindfulness, holistic psychotherapeutic techniques, and reflective journaling I was able to rediscover who I am and what I love – and it turns out I REALLY like that person. Every day I work to nurture that relationship, honour myself, and be as ME as possible and I ultimately help others do the same.

I am committed to helping others through the process of discovering their amazing self within and developing, nurturing and honouring that relationship. I am certified in Applied Mindfulness and the Foundations of Mindfulness from the University of Toronto. I also have my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, I am in the process of being approved as a Qualifying Member with the CRPO, and I am a Registered Member with the CCPA. I also have certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and am working toward a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Furthermore, I am a qualified teacher with my Bachelor of Education from York University.
